Lancelyn Theatre Supplies was founded in 1971 in Oxford by Scirard Lancelyn-Green, whilst he was studying at Oxford University.

Scirard had a keen interest in local amateur dramatics and educational venues and hence Lancelyn Theatres Supplies was set up to furnish both hire and sales possibilities. Lancelyn Theatre Supplies was established in 1971. We have been supplying and installing quality education and professional drama and theatrical equipment for 40 years.

We have a long history of installation and service work, and are proud to be one of the very few companies in the industry who have enough installation and service work consistently to maintain a fully employed installation team all year.

Our retail shops based in Oxford and the Wirral, are fully stocked with all your needs for Make Up, Special Effects, Pyrotechnics, Audio, Lighting, and Scenery. Our experienced sales staff will be happy to help with any queries you may have. We also offer a large selection of reference books for actor/actresses, make up, costume, backstage and dance. Our Oxford retail shop is open Mon-Fri 0900am - 05.30pm & Sat 0900am - 1.00pm and our Wirral branch is open Mon 8.00pm-6.30pm, Tues-Thurs 9.00am-5.00pm, Fri 8.00am-6.30pm & Saturdays by appointment only, telephone Paul Cook (Branch Manager) 07968928797.

Shortly after establishing the company, Scirard inherited his families' estate in Bebington in the Wirral. It is on this estate that our North West branch now operates from.

The company has remained a Sole Proprietorship for 36 years, under Scirard, who incidentally is a Lloyds name, but now comprised of two branches; one at Oxford and the other at Bebington.

It is unique within the Industry that Scirard's ancestry can be traced back to the same address for 924 years!

Oxford Profile Since 1971 we have carved a unique and completely independent customer base, around educational establishments, ranging from Primary Schools through to Universities and specialist Theatre Schools.

We produce a 60 page catalogue annually with mailing figures of over 40k.

Our Projects & Installation team retains more than 9 full time installation staff, 2 Project Managers and 2 full time workshop staff along with a full design team and 2 CAD operators.

All staff visiting Educational Establishment have been CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checked.

We typically carry out installation and service work in 80-100 sites per year, which is no less than two installations per day.
